After War Gundam X is a series part of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise. While this series is based in a different universe than the Universal Century timeline, After War Gundam X shares many striking similarities in the setting and theme. The series suffered the unfortunate fate of poor TV reception during its airing due to a change in time slot to an absurdly early hour in the mornings. Because of this, Gundam X is one of the most underrated and overlooked Gundam Series, but luckily it has found more exposure through other media and games today.

After War Gundam X in Super Robot Wars
Units and pilots from Gundam X will have the advantage of sharing aspects of balanced pilot types from the Universal Century and the unique, specialized Gundam and mobile suit types typically observed in alternate universes. Although the playable cast size has never been really big compared to other Gundam series, every unit and pilot has something unique to offer for whatever strategies the player may decide to use.
Gundam X also offers players to use the extremely destructive microwave satellite cannon, but its restriction to moonlit land maps or space maps and steep charging turn requirement will usually leave the cannon unused for a great portion of the game. Skill point requirements for most early game stages will end the stage before the satellite cannon is fully charged. The only exception to this is Super Robot Wars R, where it is available in any map and only has the turn count and morale requirement.
