Mobile Suit Pilot
Garrod Ran (ガロード・ラン Garōdo Ran) is a freelance vulture and the main protagonist of After War Gundam X. During a mission to kidnap Tiffa Adill, he stumbles upon the Gundam X and becomes the pilot of an extremely valuable and destructive mobile suit; the same one responsible for the war-torn era he lives in.
Garrod Ran is a cheery and talented young boy who holds pride in the work he does. However, the ruined age has stripped him of a normal childhood without any parents or role models to rely on. While this has made him very self-sufficient, it also has made Garrod an immature lone wolf that is unable to form lasting relationships. His encounter with Tiffa, and later the Freeden crew members, allows him to open up himself and see that he can change himself to not only be a better person and defy the expectations placed upon him, but also to be someone who is worthy of being with Tiffa.
Appearances In Super Robot Wars
Garrod as the main character of Gundam X has appeared in every Super Robot Wars that features Gundam X. Unlike the majority of realistic robot pilots, Garrod actually does not typically start with the spirit commands Focus, Flash, or Sure Hit early but instead will usually start with Fortitude and Bless. This and Garrod's innate Lucky skill that gives him a bonus to credits from shot down units can allow players to use him to gather money. Although Garrod has no Newtype abilities, he is able to use Newtype weapons should Tiffa ever be acquired as a sub-pilot.
Garrod will first sortie out in these units or will eventually receive them as an upgrade. Depending on the circumstances, he may be either an enemy or ally.

Garrod and Judau have a very good relationship in Super Robot Wars due to their similar parts as orphaned scavengers which in spite of the situation remains relatively optimistic about their situation.
