Zoids in general can be equipped with up to 7 different parts, and parts (that aren't enhancement sets or modification parts) can be equipped and unequipped at any time during intermissions only. Including weapons which are fixed parts of zoids, any zoid can have a total maximum of 8 parts, but again, keep in mind that weapons cannot be removed. That said, weapons can be added to some specific zoids at the Research Lab of the intermission menu.
Various parts can be obtained during missions as hidden treasures or as clear rewards. Some can also be purchased at the Factory at the camp's intermission menu (as long as you have the necessary funds) and they what parts are available depends on what mission you are at, and sometimes they can be recovered from the wreckage of destroyed enemy zoids too.

- Due to this game mechanics, the EP of a zoid equipped with an Energy Shield is consumed even when it successfully evades an attack,so these parts do not work very well with highly mobile and evasion-focused zoids, or zoids with low total EP.
