Around 100 years ago, "Star Calendar" had been established as a new calendar system...

With remarkable developments of the civilization from the old century, life in space cities is made possible. It was the hope for the future of the planet for everyone.

However, since then, the Earth was caught in the vortex of the long war.

50 years ago, the "Great Jama Kingdom", led by Queen Himika, ravaged the land but were stopped. In recent year, the discovery of the "Mimetic Beasts", of which existence had been warned by Dr. Tatsuya Aoi, had been followed by bizarre disappearances. This led to suspicions to the sense of crisis and a fear of the unknown by the populace.

During the last few decades, genetically enhanced human beings with superior abilities, called "Coordinators", had a feud with naturally born human - "Naturals" - which was still at socially-negligible level.

In the battle 50 years ago, the suddenly appeared barrier called "Zone" sealed the Great Jama Kingdom in Kyushu.

The Mimetic Beasts disappeared at the end of the "War of the Giants" 5 years ago. The cities had undergone a revival, and the world seemed to regained peace.

But behind the scenes, the feud between Naturals and Coordinators, which had deteriorated to a simmering state for some time, soon emerged again. A war between the "Earth Alliance" and "ZAFT" broke out. In all this, the evil scientist, Dr. Hell, had emerged with his plan to conquer the world.

The war, which lasted two years, eventually led to the fall of the leaders.

It is now Year 105 of the Star Calendar Era, six months after the end of the war...

The scars from the ravages of war is gradually healing, and humanity have finally found peace again.

But, unbeknownst to everyone, a new terror is approaching...
