Richard Henry Mardukas is a character from the Full Metal Panic! series. He is the deputy captain on the Mithril submarine, the Tuutha de Danaan and its presiding captain in the absence of Teletha Testarossa. He is a veteran submarine captain and is implied to be unparalleled at submarine warfare. Mardukas, before joining Mithril, served the British Royal Navy as the captain of the HMS Turbulent where his expertise and deadliness in submarine combat earned him the nickname as the "Duke". He is comically overprotective of Tessa in the animated series, but other media reveals that this is due to fact he is actually her foster parent.
