Characters

Akyu unit & Early Kosuzu sub-pilot

Fulfill either of the following requirements. The second is only available in the DREAM OF THE STRAY DREAMER port.

  • Scenario 4 Reimu Route: Move Akyu to the square with the flowers.
  • Interlude "A Rare Book From Makai": Have Akyu defeat an enemy. Support attack is allowed.

If met, an option will be available after scenario 50 for Akyu to either remain on the Palanquin Ship or participate in danmaku battles herself. Choose the second option to unlock her and gain Kosuzu as a sub-pilot early. The option will always be available on New Game+ regardless of protagonist choice or whether it was unlocked in the previous playthrough.

Lily Black

  • Scenario 28 Reimu Route: Have Lily defeat an enemy. This will add 6 Lily points.
  • Scenario 38 Marisa Route: Have Lily defeat an enemy. This will add 6 Lily points.
  • Scenario 38 Marisa Route: Have Lily break Tewi's Spell Card. This will add 3 Lily points.
  • Scenario 46: Have Lily defeat an enemy. This will add 3 Lily points.

Lily automatically receives 1 more Lily point at the start of Stage 61, if Reimu is the protagonist. If the total amount of Lily points is 4 or more, she will receive the costume after Stage 61.

Lily White will be able to switch into her Lily Black form in the Intermission menu after Scenario 61. Automatically unlocked in NG+.

Reimu (Old Costume)

  • Scenario 55: Reimu must have 100 or more kills by the end of this stage.

She will sortie in the Old Costume form at the start of Scenario 56, and will now be capable of switching into the form in the Intermission menu. It will automatically unlock in New Game+.

Marisa (Old Costume)

  • Scenario 55: Marisa must have 100 or more kills by the end of this stage.

She will sortie in the Old Costume form at the start of Scenario 56, and will now be capable of switching into the form in the Intermission menu. It will automatically unlock in New Game+.

Friendship Levels

There are a few hidden opportunities to gain extra friendship levels between certain characters (though most of them are limited to Marisa Route).

Scenario 2M

Use the Persuade (説得) option with Marisa when you are next to Alice. This ends her spellcard without capturing it (or giving you the EXP or item), but increases their friendship levels with each other by 1.

Scenario 20M

Use the Persuade (説得) option with Marisa and then Alice when you are next to Nitori (and before activating her spell card). This increases Nitori and Marisa's friendship with each other by 1.

Scenario 29M

The choice at the start of the stage (of who leads the rescue team) affects who gets a friendship level boost with Marisa. Alice, Nitori, or Patchouli can increase their friendship levels with Marisa by 1 this way.

Scenario 59

Murasa and Ichirin can each use the Persuade (説得) option on Nue to increase their friendship level with her by 1.

Items

Genjii

  • Scenario 69: Move Reimu to the "Onsen" (温泉) terrain. A conversation event will occur, and you will receive the Genjii equipment.
