Formulas used during combat in FMW.

EXP Gain

Units level up after gaining 500 EXP per level.
Formula results round down.

Combat

If a unit levels up after gaining EXP, the EXP overflowing into the next level will be halved.

  • For example: unit is at 450 EXP, then gains 100 EXP and levels up. The overflowing 50 EXP will be halved into 25 EXP counted into the new level.

Enemy Defeat

Base EXP gained when an ally unit defeats an enemy unit of same level varies by enemy.

  • Ally level greater than enemy level: [Base EXP] / (2 ^ [Level difference])
  • Ally level less than enemy level (caps at a level difference of 8): [Base EXP] * 3.75 * (1 + ([Level difference] - 1) * 0.2)
  • Minimum EXP that can be gained is 1.

Enemy Damaged

[Enemy Defeat EXP] * 0.1

Heal

Unaffected by any EXP-raising factors.
Base EXP gained is affected by the healer's own level: k * [Healer level]
The k constant decreases as the healer's level rises:

Resupply

Unaffected by any EXP-raising factors.

  • Resupplier level equal or less than resupplied unit (caps at a level difference of 8): 200 + 50 * [Level difference]
  • Resupplier level greater than resupplied unit: 200 / (2 ^ [Level difference])

Songs

Applies to Mystia.
Unaffected by any EXP-raising factors.
EXP can still be gained even when the songs don't do anything to the affected units.
Base EXP gained is affected by Mystia's own level: k * [Mystia's level]

Aside from Gain, unaffected by any EXP-raising factors.

  • [Armor Pierce Percentage] applies to Medicine's attacks.
  • [Percentage Multipliers] essentially refers to any external multipliers displayed as a percentage.
  • [Final Damage Multipliers] essentially refers to any external multipliers displayed as a decimal.
    • Critical hit: *1.2
    • Enemy's Defense action: *0.5
    • Enemy's Shield Defense: *0.4
    • Assist Attack Damage Multiplier:
      • Rear units receive a debuff multiplier when using their Assist Attack. The debuff becomes less harsh as the rear unit's cost increases.
