Super Robot Wars/Z/Story/Setsuko Introduction

It is the era known as the Universal Century.

States were abolished as humanity united under the government of the Earth Federation. With mankind's successful construction of colonies, life flourished throughout space. However, it was in this very soil that a new conflict was born: the collection of space colonies called "Side 3."

They declared themselves the Principality of Zeon, independent of the Earth Federation, and the "One Year War" broke out. It was a massive war, on a scale previously unheard of. The damage it inflicted was enormous, and it left lasting scars on society.

One third of the total human population was lost in that single year. The Earth Federation won in the end, but the horrors of war would never be completely erased from the minds of the people.

Humanity was confronted with the existence of intelligent, extra-terrestrial life in a series of conflicts, beginning with Dr. Hell launching his attack. Utilizing the power of an ancient civilization, he attempted to conquer the world.

The ancient members of the Mycenae Empire; the Reptiloids of the Dinosaur Empire, with their stronghold in the depths of the Earth; the invaders from outer space, the armies of Planet Vega.

Humanity became focused upon creating Super Robots, such as the Mazinger Z and the Getter Robo. The battles with Dr. Hell had shattered the Mycenae Empire, and the war against the armies of Planet Vega and the Dinosaur Empire was about to enter its final stage. Though these battles were on-going, humanity was still unable to truly unite.

The One Year War had brought something to a head: the discord between the Earthnoids, who inhabited Earth, and the Spacenoids, who had emigrated into space. Seven years had passed since the conclusion of the war, and the pieces were positioned for a new game.

Within the Earth Federation Forces, an elite group known as the Titans were in the process of seizing the reins of power. When their goals were revealed, they began to oppress the Spacenoids; those who saw the threat being posed formed the AEUG, and began to resist.

One battle ends, and another begins. Meanwhile, the massive storm of fate quietly swallows the world...
