  • Unlike other games, due to the emphasis on Super Robots, healing and energy refilling units are much more valuable.
  • Unlike other games, you do not choose which units to deploy before a map begins. You are given a limit of how many you can deploy per stage, and may deploy them from your mothership. Afterward, you can freely dock units onto your mothership and immediately deploy a replacement. This also works with the many units who have Hit & Away attacks!
    • In cases where the battlefield changes mid-stage, most units will be docked on the mothership and need to be deployed again. This often refills HP and EN, and maintains Morale
  • Sp refills differently in this game, recharging by a certain number of points by allies killing enemies or taking damage. Also, many seishins comes in levels of use, which the successive levels more powerful than the previous versions.
  • Seishins can be applied both during regular turns and during counterattacks.
  • Seishins have a range of use, rather than having infinite range like other games.
  • The battleship you will have access to for most of the game is an original unit that is not overly strong as an attacker, and while it is a decent defender, it should be merely be used to support allies for the most part, though getting it leveled up enough to the point its pilot learn the Iron Wall / Guard seishin will greatly increase its survivability.
  • Support defense is very valuable in this game, and this game introduces the concept of support evade, which means the more ally units that are in proximity to the unit being attacked by an enemy, the higher their chance to dodge an attack. Support offense also not only includes support attacks, but the more ally units near each other and surrounding an enemy unit at the same time will greatly increase hit rate.
    • Do be careful, though, as enemies can (and will) attempt to gain the same advantages using the same strategies, so a key to victory is denying them a chance to gain strategic positions around your units.
  • Many MAP attacks, called Breakthrough attacks, work by actually moving your unit into a group of enemies (this doubles as a movement action) to decide the area of effect, so be mindful of where your unit will end up after the attack concludes.
  • Many units share their upgrades due to being ascending forms (ex. Liger, Fire Liger) transformations (ex. Getter 1,2,3) or combining units (ex. GoSaurer, MagnaSauruer, GranSaurer)
