Prologue

In the year 179 of the New Western Calendar, the Earth Sphere was divided in its powers. With the Earth Federation on one side, and space colonies on the other. Side 3, the farthest colony from the Earth, has declared itself the Principality of Zeon and waged a war for independence against the Earth Federation. For a time, Zeon held the upper hand with their Mobile Suits. However, the Federation built Mobile Suits of their own, to great success. Both sides suffered terrible losses in what would be known as The One Year War.

However, when a mysterious object crash lands on Earth, both sides agreed to a cease-fire, creating a temporary peace. A research team led by Dr. Bian Zoldark soon conducted research into the object, which was revealed to be an alien warship. Because of this revelation, two things were known, that there is intelligent life outside of Earth and that they are engaging in a war. This is a fact the Earth Federation did not want to spread, for fear of panic.

Bian Zoldark, realizing the threat of the aliens, has created the Divine Crusaders (DC) in an effort to counter these aliens. He has also led the charge in reverse-engineering the alien technology, dubbed Extra-Over Technology (EOT). With this technology, humanity has been able to build things such as the SDF-1 Macross, and it seemed like preparations are going to go well.

However, the costs that have been used on these projects are exhausting the Earth Federation's economy. Many spacenoids, because of their distance from Earth and the fact that news of aliens or an extra-terrestrial war has never reached most of them, have decided to form the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG).

To make things worse, various Zeon remnants and people who support them have retreated to the asteroid known as Axis and formed the Neo-Zeon movement. In response to this, the Federation forms the Titans and the Organization of the Zodiac (OZ) in an attempt to hunt down the Neo-Zeon and any threats that may occur
