Appearances

Personality And Traits

Tytti Noorbuck is a 21-year old Finnish woman, sent to the underworld of La Gias, by the emperor of Langran. On the outside, she is friendly, cheerful and elegant, making her a very popular figure socially. However, beneath her gentle nature, she hides a dark past, a trauma she has never completely forgotten about. As noted by her enemies, Tytti can be very perceptive in battles.

Although she is a very caring person, Tytti is known for her nagging behavior. She puts a lot of worry in Masaki Andoh, whom she treats like a younger sibling. As a result, she would scold at him whenever he does something reckless, or resorts to tears, to show that she is worried when something terrible might happen to him. Tytti's personality also takes a violent side, resorting to violence against those who make her angry, usually at Ricardo Silvera, another Masō Kishin herald, when she assumes he is up to no good. In reality, Ricardo had a massive crush on her and would occasionally flirt with Tytti, although many times she would reject his advances. She eventually realized that she had the same feelings towards him as well, but it came too late, when Ricardo was killed. From that point on, Tytti would find herself difficult to start another relationship with another man.

Known to be a beautiful woman, Tytti is not too boastful about her physical appearance; in fact, she even acknowledged that there is someone far more elegant in physical beauty than her: Wendy Rasm Iknart. In Alpha Gaiden, Tytti mentioned that if Wendy is not considered beautiful, 80% of all "beautiful women" on the surface world, Earth, should stop considering themselves being beautiful at all.

Tytti also has a sweet tooth and cannot swim, much to the irony that she is the herald of a water-based Masō Kishin and protected by water spirits. She is also fond to cats.

History

When Tytti was 19-years old, she witnessed the death of her father, mother and brother, at the hands of a terrorist called Lubikka Häkkinen. Rumors said that he started making advances to her and Tytti rejected him outright. Witnessing the murders, Tytti was scared beyond belief, cowering only in fear, in which Lubikka took plenty of delight on this. Some time later, Tytti was summoned into La Gias and began staying there, learning about the history and traditions of La Gias. However, during her stay, she discovered that Lubikka was also summoned into La Gias, and was chosen to be a candidate pilot for a Masō Kishin. Tytti quickly arranged an audience with Emperor Alzarl Gran Bilseia and reported Lubikka's crimes. As a result, Alzarl had Lubikka arrested and arranged for his execution. Unfortunately, Lubikka would successfully escape, vanishing from the Lagran Kingdom. At this point, Tytti began her training as a Masōki pilot, and was given a water-based Masō Kishin, the Falk, to utilize. During her training, she befriended another pilot, a French woman named Simone Kyulian.

Following her training, Tytti met up with a new surface human sent to La Gias, Masaki Andoh. She quickly formed a bond with him, treating him like a brother. Shortly afterwards, Tytti learned she was chosen as a candidate pilot for the Masō Kishin, Goddess. While Simone failed the test to prove herself worthy, Tytti passed it with ease, becoming the official pilot of the Goddess. Through Ibun Zeola Klassul, Tytti received her two familiars, Freki and Geri (though she felt a bit disappointed when she learnt Masaki chose cats, because she likes cats, starting an argument between her familiars and Masaki's). Tytti would perform her duties as a Masō Kishin herald, until the two-years anniversary of her family's death. During a routine patrol with Masaki, Tytti encountered Lubikka again, now a mercenary under the Shutedonia Kingdom. She was shocked at the fact the man who murdered her family was still alive, and under the service of the Shutedonia Army. Her past now caught up with her, Tytti must confront, in order to put her memories to rest for good.

During another patrol mission, outside of the Langran capital with Masaki and Ricardo, the kingdom was under attack. Sensing a bad feeling, Masaki headed back with his Cybuster, while Tytti and Ricardo fought off Saphine Grace. To Tytti's shock, Lubikka reappeared, lending a hand to Saphine. During the fight, Lubikka would constantly torment Tytti with the murder of her family, and how she was helpless in saving them. The traumatic flood of memories overwhelmed Tytti, making her lose consciousness, fell to Lubikka's hypnosis and attempted to kill Ricardo instead. Fortunately, Ricardo drove Lubikka and his reinforcements off and although the two intended to catch up with Masaki in the capital, Tytti felt the after-effects, and needed some recuperation. While attempting to give her some medicine, by stepping out from his Masō Kishins, Lubikka, who remained behind, attempted to kill Tytti with a gun. However, Ricardo was in the way and took the bullet instead. Lubikka would flee, claiming the next time they meet, it would be her who dies. As Ricardo lay heavily wounded, he would confess his love for Tytti, and she would do the same, but came too late, as he succumbed to his injuries.

When she returned back to the Langran capital, Tytti saw everything lying in ruins. Confused at who would invade the Langran Kingdom, Hwang Yang Long, another fellow Masō Kishin Herald, noted that with the current state of affairs, the Shutedonia Army has declared war on Langran, thus they must defend its Langran remnants. Tytti opted to stay in Langran, while Masaki, believing the destruction of Langran to be the work of Shu Shirakawa, heads to the surface world, where he was last seen heading.

In Super Robot Wars EX, Tytti would reunite with Masaki and become involved in the war to defend Langran. They fought the Nagazadd, a machine said to be the incarnation of Shiva Volkruss himself. After defeating him, Tytti, using the power of her Goddess, sealed the dark god. Afterwards, when the Guests invaded the surface world, Tytti followed Masaki to drive off the extraterrestrial invaders.

In the second part of Super Robot Wars Gaiden, which occurred after the Guests' invasion, Tytti helps out Masaki in quelling the remaining enemies to La Gias, which could either end with the ultimate defeat of Lubikka or defeating a resurrected Nagazadd, under the name Shin Nagazadd, where the Masō Kishin pilots must ally with Shu.

In Super Robot Wars Alpha Gaiden, Tytti came to Earth along with Mio Sasuga, Presia Zenoskis and Xenia Gran Bilseia to bring the repaired Cybaster to Masaki. She ended up joining the Preventers/Irregulars in the following battle against Shu which caused them to be thrown into an apocalyptic future, and once again return to the proper timeline. After the war, Tytti returned to La Gias along with her friends.

Trivia

  • Kikuko Inoue's role as Tytti Noorbuck might be an inside joke towards the Oh My Goddess! series, as she voices Belldandy, who is literally a goddess (while one of the possible translations of Tytti's Masō Kishin is Goddess) and possesses an elegant, gentle nature and personality similar to Tytti. Furthermore, the Goddess' attacks consists of Norse-based names, such as Fenrir and Jötunheimr, while the Oh My Goddess! series is similarly influenced with Norse mythology.
